ABOUT THE VENUE AT RAILSIDE

Meet the Owners

Nate and Stephanie met in Lincoln in 2015. Nate was in law school and Stephanie was a news anchor. After Nate graduated in 2017, the couple moved to Kearney. They were married in 2019 and welcomed a beautiful baby girl in 2021. Stephanie is originally from Ohio and Nate is from Iowa. The two have made Central Nebraska their home and this is where they wanted to pursue their dream of opening an event venue.

Choosing a unique venue that was going to create an experience and leave a lasting impression for guests was at the top of the list when planning their wedding. They wanted to create a venue that will do just that here in Central Nebraska. After a lot of hard work and an outpouring of community support for this project, they are bringing life back into a beautiful and historic building. They hope The Venue at Railside will create unforgettable memories for years to come!

Meet the Events Manager

Meet the owner and heart behind Hope Collective! Jessica Kenyon was born and raised in Grand Island and dreamed of renovating a historic building into a venue to coincide with her passion for event planning. She is so thankful Stephanie and Nate moved forward with their vision and brought Hope Collective on the journey!

When Jessica isn’t transforming dreams into reality, she’s spending time creating her own lasting memories with her adventurous family. She finds joy in exploring new places together and loves to explore and learn the history behind old places.

Venue History

The Venue at Railside was first built and dedicated as an Elks Lodge in 1918. According to the Grand Island Elks, this building was said to be the finest lodge building in the state of Nebraska at the time it was built. When the Elks moved out, the building served as a home for county offices, a courthouse annex and storage space. It was vacant for decades before being bought by Nate and Stephanie Husak in 2023 to become an event venue.
